Clinical Services
 

A complete primary visual evaluation includes the following:

  • Visual Sharpness
  • Color Vision
  • Binocular vision (coordination of eyes)
  • External examination of the Eye (slit lamp)
  • Tonometry (glaucoma test)
  • Examination of the back part of the eyeball (Ophthalmoscopy)
  • Diagnosis and Treatment of Ocular Diseases

An examination of the following will be made when needed:

  • Field of view
  • Corneal Topography
  • Contact lens examination

In the Hato Rey clinic the following secondary visual services are offered:

  • Contact lenses : soft gas or permeable contact lenses for conditions like high astigmatism or keratoconus.
  • Low Vision : visual evaluation to patients who require special optical aids such as magnifying glasses and telescopes.
  • Visual Therapy: after evaluation a program of visual therapies, ocular and perception tests is designed for the treatment of strabism and amblyopia.
  • Learning Problems: visual tests are made to diagnose conditions associated with learning problems.
  • Ocular Prosthesis : ocular prosthesis are fitted to children and adults.
  • Electrodiagnosis : evaluation of patients referred for ERG (Electroretinogram), EOG (electro-oculogram) or VEP (visual evoked potential).
  • Ophtalmology: evaluation of patientss referred for treatment of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts and retinopathy.
