A complete primary visual evaluation includes the following:
- Visual Sharpness
- Color Vision
- Binocular vision (coordination of eyes)
- External examination of the Eye (slit lamp)
- Tonometry (glaucoma test)
- Examination of the back part of the eyeball (Ophthalmoscopy)
- Diagnosis and Treatment of Ocular Diseases
An examination of the following will be made when needed:
- Field of view
- Corneal Topography
- Contact lens examination
In the Hato Rey clinic the following secondary
visual services
are offered:
- Contact lenses : soft gas or permeable contact lenses
for conditions like high astigmatism or keratoconus.
- Low Vision : visual evaluation to patients
who require special optical aids such as magnifying glasses
and telescopes.
- Visual Therapy: after evaluation a program
of visual therapies, ocular and perception tests is designed
for the treatment of strabism and amblyopia.
- Learning Problems: visual tests are
made to diagnose conditions associated with learning problems.
- Ocular Prosthesis : ocular prosthesis
are fitted to children and adults.
- Electrodiagnosis : evaluation of patients
referred for ERG (Electroretinogram), EOG (electro-oculogram)
or VEP (visual evoked potential).
- Ophtalmology: evaluation of patientss
referred for treatment of conditions like glaucoma, cataracts
and retinopathy.
