Bank of MontrealOffers a Student Line of Credit for Canadian students who are studying outside of Canada. The bank determines the limit on the line of credit based on individual needs. permanent resident. The maximum loan per year is your cost of education
for that year minus all other financial aid received for the same period.
Total borrowing cannot exceed $220,000. CanHelp LoanApplicant and co-applicant (if any) must be Canadian citizens. Qualified borrowers may borrow up to $25,000 without a co-signer; up to the cost of attendance without a co-applicant. Lenders offer different rates: Citizens Bank Loans are the Prime Lending Rate plus .50%, Bank of America loans are LIBOR plus 24%. If you have a co-borrower there is an origination fee of 6%, without a co-borrower the origination fee is 7% plus 2% at repayment, but fees may vary by lender. Payments of principal and interest can be differed during enrollment and for six months afterwards. The repayment term is 10-25 years. For more information go to http://www.iefc.com.
