Mission
In the Center for Access to Information (CAI), at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry, our mission is to collaborate in the development and integration of a diverse student population from Puerto Rico, The United States and other parts of the world, within a bilingual environment. By providing the educational resources (data bases, journals, books, etc.) they need to become Doctors of Optometry who are skilled and knowledgeable.

Vision
A leader library in the Caribbean and Latin America with the most complete resources in eye care, helping our users to be up to date in their field.

Regular Schedule (beginning August 11, 2014)

Monday – Thursday 7:00 am - 10:00 pm
Friday 7:00 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday-Sunday 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
12:00pm - 1:00pm CLOSED
1:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Loan Periods

  • Optometry Faculty & Students
    • Reserve Collection: Books - 2 hours and Academic reserves (professor lectures) - 1 hour
    • Reference Collection: Do not circulate

  • IAUPR Students and Faculty of all other units
    • Reserve Collection: Do not circulate

Overdue fines for Reserve loans applied only to our students

$ 70.00 maximum overdue fine

$50.00 maximum overdue fine

Bill for unreturned materials applied to all clients
Cost of new edition of book or library resource
Plus billing fee: $20.00

Museum

In 1990 we established a MUSEUM of OPTOMETRY. It is open to students, faculty, optometrists, and the general public during work hours.
